Alterations & additions, swimming pool refurbishment & new carport

About: The existing kitchen, living, entry, some bedrooms were all on the first floor which didn't allow for a good connection to the rear yard & pool. The proposal was to bring the main living areas of the house to the ground floor, a new addition was proposed for a new large kitchen (with walk-in-pantry), dining & sunken living (with fireplace) at the rear of the existing house. The existing single garage was converted into a large laundry, mudroom & surf board storage room. A new entry way was proposed at ground level with a double height space with new stairway. The existing first floor layout was re-worked to allow for the two existing bedrooms & bathroom plus a new large master suite, with large ensuite, walk- through-robe & home office. The existing pool was replaced with a more modern looking pool & a large covered outdoor eating area was proposed to allow for large family & friend gatherings. A new double carport, entry & masonry fence was proposed forward of the building line, (thus a DA approval was required just for this part). Putting the rest of the proposal under CDC allowed the build to begin and for the build not to be held up by council.

Brief: For a spacious size family home with the capability to work from home. A new double carport & secure front fence to provide a safe place for the kids to ride their bikes & to provide privacy from the busy road. Materials: soft bagged brickwork, hardwood columns in the outdoor spaces, latte poles as the outdoor ceilings linings, weatherboard cladding, dark metal roof. New fibre glass swimming pool.
