About Southworth Architects 

My name is Laura Southworth, I am a registered Architect, a sole trader who sees every project as a collaboration with my client. Working with the client to facilitate their vision from initial design through to completion. As an Architect I am eager to listen, to observe, to understand, in order to give the best possible outcome, aesthetically and functionally. The flexibility of my aesthetic highlights my ability to work as a team with my client to arrive at a personal solution. Each project tells a story of people and place, capturing a client's individual needs and style.  A small scale studio ensures the greatest level of commitment to each project. I only take on a volume of work whereby I can guarantee a high level of service to my clients.    

 

I have been working in the industry for just over 20 years and have the experience in planning homes for families big and small. Types: single dwellings, attached secondary dwellings, alterations and additions, swimming pools & detached studios.  I prioritise to understand not only the specific needs of each client, but also the setting, helping my client understand the constraints & opportunities of each individual site. I have experience designing & documenting homes in all levels of bushfire areas, flood prone areas, coastal sites and rural sites.
